A Sho Fly is used to keep the flies away. It is usually attached to the breast collar on a saddle. When the horse moves the sho fly swings back and forth and keeps the flies off your horse. A sho fly is made of tail hair attached to a clip or ring.  The top knot is hitched horsehair made in a variety of designs. Sho Flys can be anywhere from 8 inches to 14 inches depending on the length of tail hair used.

These are details of the top of a sho fly. The top knot is hitched horsehair.

There are two styles of clips available for sho flys, they are the pull clip and the cross over clip. 
Both clips are made of silver stainless steel. Also a standard 1 inch round ring is also available.
