Horsehair comes in many different natural colors ranging from white through a large variety of browns and reds to black. But when you want a different color you'll need to dye your horsehair. I'm going to explain three methods of dyeing horsehair.

The hat band
above was inspired by Acoma pottery. The pottery has a very distinct color
palette of black and terra cotta orange on a natural white background. The
black and white are natural colors but the terra cotta orange was created
by using RIT dyes. Detail at the left |
